Position PurposeRetain, secure, and grow retail revenues by creating and exploiting opportunities to market gas, electricity and the company's products and services to commercial and industrial market sectors.
Retain, expand and attract business within Unitil's service territories.
Act as the single point of contact with Unitil's designated key business and industrial customers, insuring the quality of service and opening business communications to counter competitive pressures.
Principal Accountabilities20% Demonstrates continuously that s/he supports both the Corporate Mission and the Department's Mission through actions that are consistent with Unitil Core Principles:

o Support operations during storm restoration efforts and other system emergencies including:
on call duties to staff local EOC's as needed.
25% Consistent with Unitil's mission and strategic objectives, grow retail revenues by:
o Creating and exploiting opportunities to market gas, electricity and the company's products and services to commercial and industrial market sectors.
Executing contracts that benefit both the customer and the company,o Establishing Unitil as an energy partner with targeted business and industrial customers.
Resolving complex customer issues and providing detailed project management,o Administering new products and services to support revenue growth by working with manufacturers and vendors to determine application of new technology and/or processes and then initiate and present comparative engineering and economic analysis to support application of these products and services.
25% Attract, retain, and expand business within Unitil's service territories through:
o The development of strong, fully integrated and mutually beneficial relationships with designated key business and industrial customers and local/regional economic development professionals.
o Collaborative efforts with local/regional, public/private economic development agency partners that result in the relocation of businesses to Unitil's service territories, enable business expansions and ensure the overall viability of the business community,o Delivery of Energy Efficiency programs to assigned customer segments:
commercial and industrial.
15% Secure designated key customer/stakeholder support for Unitil initiatives by:
o Delivering key account management processes that are customer focused and targeted to create and maintain critical and delicate customer relationships for maximum benefit to customers and Unitil.
o Becoming the company in the eyes of the customer.
Demonstrating knowledge and credibility.
15% Provide constant and effective communications to company management through formal and informal communication processes.
Deliver communications to all external stakeholders that create a common message and singular voice for Unitil in the various publics it encounters.
Contribute to the development and coordination of department strategic planning efforts.
QualificationsBachelor degree in Marketing, Engineering or business related fields or Equivalent, technical background and 5 - 8 years of related experience and successful professional experience in:
Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Technical Areas.
Must be able to demonstrate successful professional experience across technical, and business areas and must have excellent communication (oral/written), sales/negotiation and computer skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
